Bronzer Frequently Asked Questions

• What Does Bronzer Do?

Bronzer is a great way to add some warmth, colour and depth to the face. It gives your skin a sun-kissed glow and is usually applied to the high points of the face where the sun would naturally tan you.

Because foundation and skin tint can cover shadows and tones, bronzer can be used add depth and shape back into the face to stop your face looking flat.

• What Type Of Bronzer Should You Use?

To choose the right bronzer you need to consider a couple of factors including your skin type and the finish you want.

For normal or combination skin, you can use any type of bronzer, which one depends on personal preference and the type of makeup look you want to achieve.

For oily skin, baked or powder bronzer is best to achieve a more mattifying finish.

For dry skin, cream or liquid bronzer adds moisture back into the skin and will prevent it looking drier as baked or powder bronzer will sit on top of any dry skin and can make it more obvious.

For a matte makeup look, baked or powder bronzer is always best and comes in a number of different finishes with added shimmer or without.

For a full glam makeup look or a more natural makeup look , cream bronzer is super versatile and buildable so you can choose how heavy you want it.

For a dewy or glowy makeup look opt for a liquid bronzer as this will add moisture to the skin while adding that natural warmth.

• Where Should You Apply Bronzer?

Bronzer is used to replicate that sun-kissed glow you would naturally achieve from the sun, so it's best to apply to the high points of your face where you would naturally tan:

  • Across the forehead
  • Temples
  • Top of the cheeks
  • Top of the nose
  • Along the hairline

• Difference Between Bronzer And Contour?

Bronzer adds warmth and colour to the face where you would naturally get tanned from the sun, whereas contour adds shadows to the face and is great for creating dimension to the bone structure.
